Lurking (hiding) in my "time machine" in the spare rooms of the house I found another oldie but goodie from the 1970's era - a 3 pin male line plug
These are of a high quality build and designed to comply with the European DIN standards.
The only mystery to me is who made this connector? I have previously had exactly the same connectors from Prehkey Tech but this plug only has an L (well it looks like an L) within a circle - I cannot recall who that might be, it was a LONG time ago.
On with the description ...
UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - DIN Connector
Number of pins: 3
Gender: Male
Inline (cable connection)
The construction of the body, along with the securing ring, is all metal with a Chrome finish
The cable entry boot is rubber
The insulator used at the front (supporting the pins) is two layers of phenolic resin board with a central Copper rivet keeping it all together. This is very good material to work with because it is not badly affected by too much heat from a soldering iron!
The three pins are hollow and Silver plated
The pins have stamped numbering inside and Vintage USED plug, typically used with audio equipment
Here is a diagram of the pin numbering system and the locating notch directly above Pin 2
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW Old (very) Stock
Unused
Solder cup hollow pins are clean (Silver plated) and shiny
Body is clean although a few light scratches as this was not previously stored in a sealed packet.
I have now placed this plug into a sealed clear plastic packet to maintain the condition
