UNKNOWN MANUFACTURER - 1/4" Jack Plug
Purchased in the mid 1990's for general use. These are "adequate" jack plugs but I wouldn't be using them in a professional environment due to the plastic back section and the method of termination - clamping.
Orientation: Straight
Diecast metal body with a Blue screw on back section and rubber boot. Internally it uses a plastic compression clamp to secure the cable sheath.
Internal terminations are a solder tag for the hot connection and a "cup" with hole for the sheath-ground.
While the plugs are fine in light duty use, they do not like being put under pressure (stage environment) and we found the Blue plastic section in particular would fail on us. When we dedicated these to only being used in a much gentlier environment, we had no problems.
NO inner plastic insulating sleeve is supplied but the cable clamp is designed to act like an insulating sleeve to the hot connection.
DIMENSIONS:
78mm plug body length
The rubber boot extends a further 17mm from the rear
The maximum diameter cable that should be used is 6mm
Plug shaft at the front is pretty standard at 31mm length
COSMETIC CONDITION:
NEW
CLEAN
NO damage to the metal body, the plug shaft, the Blue plastic rear section or the Black rubber boot
Each jack plug is now stored individually within a sealed clear plastic packet.
