Oh my! This album takes me way back in time - younger days of very different psychedelic sounding music which had weird lyrics and special effects such as the use of phasing and wah wah galore! Put on the floral hippy clothes, grab a joint and take a listen ...
STATUS QUO - Golden Hour Of Status Quo (Compilation)
Golden Hour Records
Cat# GH556

Monoaural recording most tracks except a couple which have had the "pseudo stereo" treatment
Australian release
Cover is in very good condition, no personal writing, no seam splits and no tears.
New inner sleeve
Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected under a bright White halogen light source and I can see just a couple of very light scratches. I then played the ENTIRE release, both sides, and there are no significant issues although at the beginning of each side I felt the surface noise was just slightly elevated than normal but no issues with clicks n pops.
SPECIAL NOTE: A manufacturing issue was heard, in my opinion the recording sounds quite "thin" on only some tracks, meaning that the low end frequencies just aren't quite there. To really "get into" "Pictures Of Matchstick Men" for example, I needed to 'up' the Bass response on the NAD to get the sound I wanted to hear!
New outer sleeve
TRACKS: Pictures Of Matchstick Men, The Price Of Love, Mr. Mind Detector, Paradise Flat, You're Just What I Was Looking For Today, When My Mind Is Not Live, The Clown, Elizabeth Dreams, When I Awake, Are You Growing Tired Of My Love, Ice In The Sun, So Ends Another Life, Spicks And Specks, Velvet Curtains, Poor Old Man, Sunny Cellphane Skies, Gentleman Joe's Sidewalk Cafe, Face Without A Soul, Sheila, Green Tambourine, Black Veils Of Melancholy
Dang! these guys dressed so groovy! I used to have a floral shirt (with ruffles around the wrists) just like these guys (but my hair was much much longer) - fashion inspirations of the day
