HISTORY:

My "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of the stranger items although it may remain useful as a "test film"

This is a "home movie", shot with the owners "brand new" SANKYO Super CM5 camera! A lot of nice 1970's shots taken around the Sydney & Blue Mountains area. Places such as out on Sydney Harbour (near the heads), a fun park with "bumper cars" (could it be Lunar Park?) fascinating film of a theme park which I think has since disappeared called Prehistoric World (in the Blue Mountains) and some nice riverside scenes which look to be around the Colo River, also in the Blue Mountains. Yes, there is some family scenes (camping, which is funny to watch anyway) - so very very 1970's activities, dress style, long hair, beards, and just young folk having fun - so many kids!

Best of all, the colour is great - nice full range colour spectrum and the lack of sound is probably a good thing anyway.

Some of the camera shots are a bit shaky, for example out on the Sydney Harbour in a boat!

A nice piece of film for reminiscing or historical references or just as a decent length of "test film"

I tend to be quite detailed in my item descriptions, please READ all the details to decide if this item may interest you.

Now, on with the description ...

COLOUR TEST FILM - Super 8mm Film

As there was absolutely no labelling, I have added a paper label (not stuck onto the case or reel) to identify the content

Reel capacity: 400' (estimated film length is 300')

The reel is a 400' PLiO MAGiC (USA) Grey

NO SOUND

The content on this film is as described briefly above, interesting for those who like to look back in time at how families enjoyed themselves 50 years ago or to see the SANKYO Super CM5 camera in action!

NO leader film is fitted.

The colour and picture focus is good ... actually the later is sometimes slightly out of focus and at times the cinematographer filmed in areas that were just not lit well enough.

TESTING:

I test played this film on my ELMO 1200 projector, running at 24fps

The projector film path has been completely cleaned prior to running this film through the machine. I now have a "running sheet", my maintenance schedule if you like - I record when each maintenance is performed because I am running a lot of films through the machine.

NO leader film

NO sound track

Plays well, I played the entire reel through the projector. I did notice that some of the movement (especially when the folks are camping) is a bit fast, I think I should have been playing this at 18fps but unfortunately my test projector has an issue with this speed, I was forced to test at 24fps

All colours are fine, no issues - interesting that locally processed film seems to last a lot longer than commercially release films.

I have now repacked the film, a long with a couple of Silica Gel satchels, into a sealed clear plastic pack. As there is no outer case, this reel will be well protected when shipping.

USED EXACTLY as described
