Remember floppies? Stretch the memory back to the 1980's and the world of external data storage was centred around floppy drives. I was employed in the industry and we used to distribute these wonderful 8" floppy drives from Mitsubishi Electric for around A$400 wholesale! If you have ever held an 8" floppy in your hand you will know where the term "floppy" comes from - antiquated by today's standards but very high tech in their day.
This cable was used for later generation floppy drives, sometimes 5.25 floppy drives but also the new fan dangled 3.5" hard plastic cased floppies.
