No, I have not ventured over to the "Dark Side" but I take an interest in a very wide range of subjects ranging from cosmology (what an incredibly enormous and largely unknown universe we live in!), the development of quantum computing which will make current 0-1 based computer systems completely redundant,  to the more esoteric world such as magic, charms and feng shui. This book from Antonia Beattie, is a great introduction to the world of White Magic, the making of "good" spells that could enhance your life or those around you.

The book begins with the basics, the "tools of the trade" if you like, where to undertake your spell making and your psyche and attitude towards the spell creation. It should not be expected that spells will do all the hard work for you but they may assist. For example, if you are looking for love then just making love spells without any physical effort on your part is most likely doomed to failure - the actions and the spells go together in harmony.

No special tools or ingredients are required, basically coloured candles, various oils, cords, fabrics and stones plus the inner ability to concentrate and focus.

If you wish to dance around a large cauldron with strange bubbling liquids while mumbling incantations under your breath, this probably isn't the book for you!

ISBN: 1-86302-788-2

2003

191 pages

Hardcover with dust jacket

You need a higher than normal shelf height as this is a "tall" book, measuring 285mm height x 148mm wide

Not only a very good spell reference guide but visually very pleasing with the content pages paper being a light Pink and each page is sprinkled with graphics to illustrate the information. A full index at the rear of the book makes it easy to locate a specific spell that you may be interested in but for me, the most important section is at the front where the various practical aspects of spell making are discussed, such as the person making the spell, the location, the tools and the general attitude to the spell creation.
