Oh my Russ! What gives here?
This is one of our daughters books from "long ago". She remains an avid Kylie Minogue fan and collected just about anything that was associated with Kylie. Most of her signed memorabilia, tickets, back stage passes etc have all found new owners, funny enough most went to NZ collectors! She had been "hanging onto" this book because it was apparently a bit special to her, certainly not because of the storyline but that it is a very "Princess-like" book and features a dog! In fact in many ways, Sheeba the dog (a Rhodesian Ridgeback) is the star of the show! Our daughter loves dogs so this book ticked all the boxes for her ... Kylie, a dog and the fantasy of being a star!
The storyline, well errr ... pretty simple really. Kylie is about to perform on stage, but where are her special sparkly shoes? Kylie is in a tissy fit, she can't find her shoes and the show is about to begin. Featuring on every page is her companion, Sheeba the dog. Well, you guessed it - Sheeba appears just in a nick of time with Kylie's shoes in her mouth! Kylie goes on stage and all is well with the world!
In all truth, this book is probably only of interest to the collector of all things Kylie - many of the current generation don't even seem to know (I asked my niece who asked her friends if they had heard of Kylie Minogue - "Kylie Who?" It's a generational thing ...
