HISTORY:
In a previous life I owned and operated an audio post production facility which dealt in restoration and archival of various media including magnetic tape.
When the facilities were closed down it was necessary to destroy some of the master tapes being held in our tape library as they contained copyright material. The tape was despooled and disposed of, leaving behind these empty reels.
The outer boxes are in reasonable condition, and the plastic reels are clean & undamaged.
I get asked this all the time, so I will pre-empt the question "Have you got any 10.5" metal reels or NAB adapters, Russ?"
Sorry but all of the larger reels and their nice adapters have found new studios to live in (mainly back in Germany before the EU closed off their borders to sensible trading!)
These reels are a "mixed lot" and you can pick 'n' choose which ones you would prefer or if purchasing more than one, an automatic discount is applied

All reels are in their outer packaging (cardboard boxes except the BASF which uses plastic)
All reels are empty i.e there is no tape

All boxes and reels are clean
Yes, after 50 odd years some of the packaging looks a bit "tired" but they are still functional - probably the worst is the AMPEX box which looks as though it has something like a previous dampness issue (mildew spots?) from incorrect storage.
NO reels are cracked or damaged at all
NO personal writing on the reels or boxes EXCEPT one of the Scotch boxes has a running sheet of the original tape contents. This is written in pencil and should be easily removeable.
To preserve the current condition I have packed each reel into a sealed clear plastic packet, now they sit patiently on the storage rack shelves waiting for new owners ...
