HISTORY:

Those who are old enough will well remember the Ferguson brand name, Australian designed and made transformers. Unfortunately the name is no longer as they were acquired by Telectran International back in 1997.

Highly reliable transformers with very good characteristics, these Ferguson transformers could be found in many Australian made products including the broadcast industry (especially rack mount equipment)

FERGUSON TRANSFORMER

Step down

240V AC input (only)

15-0-15V AC output @ 20VA (total power not per winding)

Unique pin arrangement used for all connections and because of this I am supplying the original leads with the crimped connectors (colour coded)

Low Profile fully enclosed format

DIMENSIONS: 75mm x 60mm x 40mm height

Mounting brackets at each end extend the length from 75mm to 110mm with multiple mounting choices

Weight: 600g

Supplied lead lengths:

Secondary (Yellow/Brown) 140mm (each) minimum length

Primary (Black/Red) 75mm (each) minimum length

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Excellent physical condition

NO damage at all

TESTING:

Removed from fully functioning (but obsolete) audio broadcast equipment.

Retested after removal:

No load secondary voltage measures 16.75V each winding (two separate windings - not a tap) or 33.5V across both windings (currently the two windings have one side joined together creating a 33.5V winding with centre tap - just unsolder if the two separate windings are preferred. It would be reasonable to expect under full design load, that this transformer can supply up to 650mA RMS each winding, without breaking a sweat. This is plenty of current for most low level audio or electronic equipment. Especially suitable for Op amp circuits where a dual rail power supply is required, typically 15-0-15V DC
