HISTORY:
I am not a 'film buff' and my "world" is 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.
An extremely unwell associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items. I am often asked "THE QUESTION"
So how many films do you have, Russ?
My response is ... boxes and boxes of them, perhaps 500+
I have been honoured with the trust and care of these films, to the owner they are an important part of his life and I respect that. Each film is VERY SLOWLY (I have a lot of other things to do as well!) being evaluated, run through the projector (currently an ELMO ST1200D) and if needed, addition packing added to protect the film more.
ALL film stock is safely away in my storage units, nice n cool and out of harms way while I look (and smell!) each film ... NO ONE can just casually "browse" the collection. My associate wouldn't like that and neither do I.

The manufacturer of these reels, Australian Reel Company Pty Ltd, may be more well known for their products using the tradename, Tuscan.
Note the very early (from the 1960's) Australian Made logo which cuts across the boomerang and with the Southern Cross to the right, you don't see these very much any longer.

AUSTRALIAN REEL COMPANY - Film Canister
Made in Australia
Colour: Blue (Let's call it Tuscan Blue!)
Company logo and the "Australian Made" logo are stamped into the top section of the canister
Material: Plastic
Design: Two part, the top section fitting neatly onto the lower section - no locking mechanism
I have checked the 'fit' of both 16mm and 8mm 1200' film reels and it is a nice comfortable (not sloppy) fit, one reel of 16mm or two of the 8mm reels
EMPTY - Awaiting a film reel or two so that it's 'purpose in life' is fulfilled!

COSMETIC CONDITION:

CLEAN (and now sterilised)
NO personal writing on either section of each canister
NO strange smells!
NO damage to either section i.e no splits, cracks or pieces missing!
Some light marks but nothing serious at all
To preserve the condition of each canister, I have placed them individually within a sealed clear plastic protective air-tight package.
