Such a well known name in the world of very high quality, audiophile speaker products, these are sought after by those who enjoy excellent sound (and have very deep pockets!)

DALI is not a reference to that famous artist, Salvador, but in fact is an acronym for Danish Audiophile Loudspeaker Industries. Elegant, classy appearance with famous Dali audio quality

These TWO loudspeaker cabinets are all that remains from my DALI Suite 1.5 twin floor standing loudspeaker system - all of the loudspeakers which were once inside, and the cross-over/terminal modules have now been advertised as separate items elsewhere on my website.

Both of these cabinets look great however there is a problem, the size and weight introduces problems on how I would ship these to someone at a reasonable cost.

Australia Post outright will refuse to accept these for transport as they exceed their maximum dimensional limitations, meaning that the only options for delivery of these two cabinets are either:

Pickup from Rooty Hill, Western Sydney

OR

Send via a courier service, but that is not a low cost option.

I have no issues packing these up properly and safely in strong 3 wall cardboard with plenty of bubblewrap - this is the main reason that my asking price is $40, to cover the cost of the materials I would need to use.

Looking at a number of "low cost" courier solutions, I have gathered together this informations which is correct as of today (13th June 2025)

Please understand that by purchasing these at the price shown, NO shipping is included in that price - either organise your own if you believe it can be shipped for a more competitive price by your own courier OR I can organise a courier with pre-payment for the shipping being required separately from this item purchase.

These would be packed as two separate cartons (more manageable) each with extensive protective packing inside, the actual carton size (2 of them) would be

950mm x 250mm x 300mm

Packed physical weight: 11Kg (each speaker tower)

Here are some quotes for both loudspeakers (not each) to common areas that I ship to around Australia - these are "raw" quotes (I have not added anything to these quotes) and for delivery door to door, residential addresses with the METRO area - other outlying suburbs may cost more ...

These prices are as at today's date, of course EVERYTHING is increasing in price and I don't know for how long these prices may remain valid (auto quote system online)

Brisbane (Amarex) $50.46 (Couriers Please) $90.21

Melbourne (Amarex) $47.50 (Couriers Please) $66.75

Perth (Allied Express) $154.56 (Amarex) $168.56

Of course other areas can be shipped to but the cost could be higher than even Perth, especially remote areas of Australia and far flung cities such as Darwin.

If you can do better yourself on the pricing, I am fine if the buyer organises and pays for the freight themselves, I would just have them ready for pickup (by arrangement)

Adieu to the background chit chat about these cabinets ... let's get down to the description of this offering

DALI SUITE 1.5 - Set Of Two Loudspeaker Cabinets

Designed & manufactured in Denmark

Materials used: Basic cabinet is 20mm thick particleboard (like a compressed chipboard) at the front and rear panels, I cannot access the sides to measure their thickness.

Outer finish is a veneer, the top & base uses what appears to be a Black vinyl while the sides, front and rear have a timber veneer, looks something like a Mahogany, mid Brown in colour with a nice grain pattern showing.

What am I offering?

This is the two loudspeaker cabinets for the DALI Suite 1.5 with the original Black cloth grilles (snap fit to the front with six interlocking posts each.

All of the original screws have been left in place (all are "star head")

Bass front port remains in place, 55mm ID plastic (this is just about the only plastic in the cabinets)

Internal acoustic wadding remains in place.

DIMENSIONS (EACH TOWER):

862mm Height x 181mm Wide (Diamond shape sides so this is at the widest point) x 259mm Depth

Base style: flat, no spikes or other methods to lift these off the floor surface

WEIGHT (EACH TOWER):

10.2Kg (Grilles fitted, original loudspeaker mounting screws included - NO loudspeakers nor the rear terminal module with the cross-over network.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

These are designed as lounge or home theatre room loudspeakers and the "look" is just as important (perhaps more so) than the sound! My critical inspection of both "towers" is pretty detailed below and overall, I personally would rate these as 9.5/10 - very good for a couple of speaker cabinets over 40 years old.

Cabinet #1:

Top Black section has NO damage to the sides or seams nor the corners. The Black on the top is solid although I can see a couple of scuff marks, these are simply marks which are not of a different colour to the rest of the top.

The front and rear panels are absolutely unmarked by scuff or scratch marks

The same can be said for the very nice looking side panels, the grain is outstanding, and there are no signs of "veneer lifting" on the sides or the seams.

The Black base "foot" is also in great shape but with some scuff marks from movement around the various floorings I used these on. NO damage, just scuff marks which would normally never been seen.

Grille #1:

Black cloth is securely held (glued) to the inside on all four sides. Cloth is clean, jet matt Black and has absolutely NO holes or tears.

NO discolouration marks to the cloth at all - just plain Black all over

ALL six mounting "plugs" are sturdy and undamaged

Cabinet #2:

Top Black section has NO damage to the sides or seams nor the corners. The Black on the top is solid and this one has no scuff marks at all - very nice.

Grille #2

Each cabinet is already wrapped & sealed in bubble-wrap to protect them both, what happens next depends upon whether these are being picked up from Rooty Hill or if they are going to take a trip via a courier.
