These particular modules are now discontinued modules (released to market around the late 90's) but still used in a wide range of professional equipment.

They are built around a "standard" layout which is important especially for interfacing to that pin connector!

I do have the specification sheets for this series of displays and this clearly indicates pinouts on the connector, waveforms on the data lines etc

ASCII 96 character set plus 10 user defineable characters

Supply rail is +5V - this MUST fall in the range of +/- 5%

150 degree viewing angle

Blue Green display with a typical brightness of 200fL

Take terminal E2 high for a self test, this causes the display to show every single character in sequence - this was used to test the module.

It also has an E1 but its function is unknown and not mentioned in the datasheets
