Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Removed from Leader (Japan) professional test equipment

Circa 1970's

Manufacturer is unknown - the symbol or logo looks a little like a K but the vertical stroke of the K is shaped like a triangle moved through 90 degrees clockwise.

Series 9509

Type: H 1995A & H 1996  (I suspect this number refers to the scale plate NOT the meter model)

Stamped on the rear of the movement MADE IN JAPAN

All plastic casing

Very large movement (and heavy)

I have established these parameters following my testing of the meter.

100uA FSD from centre zero in either the left or right direction

90mV FSD from centre zero in either the left or right direction

Coil resistance is 910 Ohm

The movement provides heavy damping, a very smooth movement of the pointer when current passes through the meter.

Front mechanical zero adjustment

Zero with this meter means the centre with the pointer being vertical.

This meter could be of particular interest observing not only DC moving positive & negative from zero also AC signals e.g audio

DIMENSIONS:

Face frame measures 87mm wide x 62mm height x 15mm deep

Display window is 75mm wide x 30mm height

Pointer (black) 28mm long

There is no parallax mirror fitted

The meter is NOT backlit

The movement barrel is very large, measuring 53mm diameter x 31mm deep

Four mounting bolts (with nuts) mount this meter onto a panel

The rear of the movement barrel has two large bolts (with nuts) and a solder lug

Polarity is marked at these terminals

The meter scale comments:

I have TWO identical meters however the scales are obviously different (see the photographs)

One scale is marked as NOISE CENTRE and the other CENTRE

In technical and dimensional terms, these two meters are IDENTICAL

The current meter scales were made to purpose BUT they can be easily removed and re-labelled.

Removal of the front casing is easy (clip on) and this reveals two small hex bolts securing the scale in place. Very careful removal of the existing scale, re-labelling and placing back on the face (checking the zero adjustment lug is in the correct position) and you are ready to go.

Of course this is a very delicate process as this requires working behind the pointer.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

In excellent condition, as new in fact

No marks or scratches on the clear acrylic display window

TESTING:

Fully functional and without any "quirks" - pointer movement is very smooth in either direction from zero, this meter is "classy"
