Collet knobs are often used in professional equipment because these use no spline fitting or grub screws for securing the knob to the shaft. Once the collet knob is tightened, it friction grips the component shaft from four sides very securely.
These collet knobs have a white plastic grip on the underside, not the usual metal (brass) fitting.
These particular knobs are especially suitable when the shaft to be gripped is very short, these were fitted to pots with only a 5mm shaft available.

Designed for use with standard 1/4" shafts - whether the shaft has no flat side or with a flat side, it doesn't matter.
Black top cap with a Black body and there is a white pointer on both the cap and the knob body.

To access and fit a collet knob ...
Flip off the top cap, unscrew the central bolt and the knob can then be slid onto or released from the 1/4" control shaft
