You won't see these around every day, this is the LOWER section of a concentric knob control system. The "top knob" is not included, I am offering ONLY the lower section only.
These were part of a range of high quality SIFAM (UK) knobs and accessories that we kept on hand JIC (Just In Case)
My music industry and production days are over and now I am seeking a new workshop for these to live in ...
WHAT IS A CONCENTRIC SHAFT/KNOB?
Concentric controls are clever little components, most often potentiometers, that have TWO shafts, one rotates inside the other. These can often found being used on old consoles, mixing desks etc - various functions such as a combined Pan & Level control, Volume & Balance control or sometimes Bass & Treble.
Usually the centre shaft of the component is a stock standard round or D type, 1/4" and right down near the beginning of the shaft (where the fixing thread is located) there is a second shaft surrounding the outside of the first shaft and it has two flat spots, so that a knob can be friction fitted..

I am pretty sure that SIFAM no longer produces these knobs, extremely difficult to find in 2023!

Typically used with a concentric shaft, 1/4"
Side pointer (extended section) but NOT painted or marked i.e no White stripe
DIMENSIONS:
Knob external diameter: 15.75mm
Vertical "ribbed" finish to the Nylon sides, for easy gripping
Pointer (which also assists moving the shaft) extends from one side of the main knob, 3mm and is 9.65mm height (slightly higher than the main knob)
Knob height: 7.75mm
Inside 'gap' for gripping the two sides of the concentric control shaft measures 6.3mm at it's widest point. I say 'widest' because in the centre of this slot for the shaft is two tiny nylon protrusions which actually make the gap just 6mm wide. If these 'get in the way' with your control shaft, they are easy to file away or reduce in size so that the knob fits your shaft perfectly.
