Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

I had a beautiful sounding Grundig Space Fidelity PA3 system (see the photograph of this 1990's contemporary system - space age looking and fantastic sound!) Unique side-lobing mid & tweeters in the "wings"

However, sadly the CD loader failed so I have decided to "part out" the useful components of the system

In this advertisement I am offering JUST the audio power amplifier block that is in the photographs.

Nice compact, high quality design/build from Grundig, Germany

Grundig Audio Power Amplifier Module

Very impressive specifications

Fully functioning immediately prior to removal from the equipment yesterday.

Grundig part number: 59450-894.00

Made in Germany

Removed from a Sound Fidelity PA3 system, also used in the PA2

80W RMS per channel into a 4 Ohm load

Speaker delayed turn-on circuits incorporated

Thermal cut-out devices fitted although control circuits are external to this board

50 - 0 - 50 AC supply from the main transformer

The speaker protection circuit also requires a +24V supply, this is generated externally to this module - nothing special about this supply but without it, the relay will not operate which means no audio output! I have included a photograph of the relevant section from the service manual - from this you can see what I mean.

Technical data has been copied from the manual, very good specifications - see the relevant photograph.

Uses 2 pairs of BDT64/65C Darlington power transistors in the output of each channel (60V/12A) on two large channel heatsinks.

If ever needed, these transistors are still widely available

I have the FULL Service manual for the PA2/3 which includes board layouts, full schematics and wiring diagrams.

On the module, there are two connectors for the speaker outputs, one for the audio input, 3x spade terminals for the 50V AC from the transformer (50-0-50) and a hard soldered connector with ribbon cable for the thermal overload circuit.

This is the power amplifier ONLY - there is no low level signal processing such as tone, level adjustments etc

So, its a great high spec power amplifier that can easily be pressed back into service without too much trouble.

Tested as described in the description This item is not returnable, UNLESS dead on arrival
