I am cleaning up ALL the various leads, patch cables etc that we had on hand hanging in the audio workshop area. Each lead is advertised separately and I have attempted to provide as much information as possible about each lead.

ALL have been professionally assembled, using high quality components, no point in testing pro audio gear with dodgy leads!

Here is one of those leads ...

SWITCHCRAFT - Audio Adapter Lead

1/4" TS jack plug to 3.5mm TRS (wired as one channel) in-line socket

Switchcraft jack plug (stamped into the body) has heatshrink insulation applied and a standard nylon sleeve (just for good measure!) - without cutting away the adhesive lined heatshrink it is impossible to examine the terminations here.

Unidentified 3.5 inline TRS moulded socket with the tip & ring connected together at the 1/4" jack plug end to create a TS socket

The twin shielded cable is simply marked as:

HIGH PERFORMANCE OFC CABLE

Intended for NON-CRITICAL audio purposes, the measured capacitance is 79pF per foot, quite a high figure but remember that there this is twin cable which effectively doubles the capacitance as they are connected in parallel. Also keep in mind that any two channel signal presented at the 3.5mm socket is going to have the two channels slammed on top of each other as they are shorted at the jack plug "business end"

COSMETIC CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

NO cable sheath damage or "ID markings"

NO damage to either jack plug or the 3.5mm inline socket

TESTING:

Undertook basic testing (DC) to check how the cable had been wired and the cable capacitance (79pF/foot with the two conductors in parallel)

Now that my examination of this lead has been completed, it is now in a sealed clear plastic packet waiting for a new owner
