Any roadie will know how handy these can be, "damn the lead is too short" just use one of these, join another XLR audio lead and Bob's (substitute another name here!) your Uncle! - now you have "one" lead of a suitable length.
Of course the big thing is that your joiner MUST be a good one, otherwise you may introduce noise into the audio
Now, we bought these on the understanding they were CANNON product - below is a link to the supplier

Now, what surprised us is that NOWHERE on the body is there a marking that this is CANNON product - sure it "looks" like CANNON and it certainly has a good build quality but that doubt has always lingered ...
The ONLY marking on these is that at each end of the joiner, stamped into the plastic end piece is what looks like SQ (Special Quality?) Quite frankly we had no idea what that means.
