Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

This component was removed from an AWA SP-08 turntable

After some investigation I can say that this turntable was AWA (originally a large Australian electronics designer and manufacturer) only in name and perhaps with some design input only.

As was the case in Japan during the latter part of the 20th century, many contractors in Japan actually designed or manufacturered (or both) electronic products on behalf of their clients.

This turntable is a product of Fujiya Audio, often shortened to FA on product labels. Fujiya undertook various contract work for companies such as Luxman, Sharp/Optonica, Trio/Kenwood, Onkyo, Yamaha, Clarion, Marantz, NEC, Columbia and Nakamichi (specifically the Dragon cassette machine under the guidance of engineer Junichi Okumura)

When dismantling this AWA turntable (which was labelled Made In Japan), many components had the FA code stamped or marked on them. The AC motor clearly shows it is a Fujiya Audio product.

The AWA SP-08 is a basic entry level consumer turntable from the 1990's, very simple technology (no electronic speed control but uses a multi-diameter drive shaft on the motor to change the rotational speed of the platter via the belt) nothing special in all respects but this spare part salvaged from the unit I have dismantled could be of some interest for a restoration or repair project.
