HISTORY:
We are cleaning out our "overgrown" collection of English (mainly) chinaware because we have quality chinaware coming out of our ears! Some pieces/collections have been kept but others must find new homes to accommodate our latest passion - fine, artistic chinaware (hand painted of course)
This is one piece that must find a new home to cherish, adore and just for fun - use it!
To offer the utmost flexibility, pieces are being offered individually because from experience, often only one piece is needed and not a complete set or trio for example. However if you are looking for a set, just search my advertisements for others of the same maker/design.
STAFFORDSHIRE Saucer ONLY
1980's ~ 1990's

Design: Elizabethan
3 separate artworks comprising pink primroses with foliage, very delicate colouring pink, green and brown
Purple/Pink around the outer top rim
***SPECIAL NOTE***
I was struck by how similar this design is to another saucer we had but have now sold, the resemblence is uncanny
DUCHESS Pink Primroses Saucer
Translucent, meaning if held up to the light you can see the shadows of your fingers through the china
Background colouring is bright white
Ribbed sides
The backstamp indicates this is HAND DECORATED but I am a little uncertain about just what this really means. The artwork looks to be just a bit too 'consistent' with no accidental brush marks and two sections of artwork of the same design look identical - that is a pretty tough thing to do if they were hand painted. It could be that the reference to hand decoration is simply the application of the transfer prior to glazing or the pink/purple solid line around the outer rim.
Makers mark printed on the base (under the glaze) using Black ink

The 20 looks vaguely like the old works artist's mark but this one is stamped onto the base, it was not hand written.
COSMETIC CONDITION:
Excellent condition
NO cracks
NO chips or fleabites
NO crazing
NO wear showing to the artwork
NO discolouration (inside & out)
Rim solid line decoration is not worn at all
