ARTWORK HISTORY:

Our family is very much into "the Arts" in all it's forms, from music to art to chinaware and even classic old (quality) technology!

Our focus has always been landscapes, both Australian and New Zealand because we have connections with both countries but over the years our walls have become overcrowded with artworks from our past travels and although we love just about every painting we have, we came across these in our collection and don't even recall why we purchased them! A moment of madness in France (it's a bit like that!)

THE ARTIST:

We have no idea who created these rather interesting "fantasy" shoe (chaussure fantaisie) paintings!

While travelling in France during the 1980's ~ 1990's we picked up a lot of interesting Art Nouveau and these art prints as well.

They are art PRINTS not original watercolours as far as we can tell.

Each painting has its own catalogue number is is marked along the bottom edge as

BCxxx (001,002 or 003)

Copyright 1998 by Editions Au dela des. Limited

Tel: 01 47 70 30 57

SUBJECT OF THE PAINTING:

A Shoe! but not just an ordinary shoe as it has the appearance of being something of a fantasy design. We tried to find any clues in the print at the base but the closest we can come to (French to English) is "Beyond" which I guess is something like a Fantasy.

FANTASY SHOE (Chaussure Fantaisie) - 3 prints of different designs

THIS IS NOT A DIGITAL PRINT - the artwork has feathered edges and a texture which for all the world looks like watercolour but it is not.
