1953 epic Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer film adaptation of the play by William Shakespeare, directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz

Many actors in this film had previous experience in the stage play, there was some trepidation about the inclusion of Marlon Brando because of his reputation for mumbling in previous productions, however Brando excelled in this performance.

The film was shot in monochrome, intentionally. colour was preferred by MGM but the director, Joseph Mankiewicz refused.

Cover is in good (minus) condition, showing its age a little with wear to the edges, one seam split which is now stabilised with tape, no tears, no writing - overall not too bad for 60+ years old.

New inner plastic liner sleeve

Vinyl record is in very good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see a couple of light scratches and there is some plastic leeching marks from the original inner sleeve (these do not affect playback) on each side. I then played the entire record and yes there is an elevated level of surface noise compared to "normal" vinyl but not excessive - very listenable. Note that this album is primarily dialogue from the movie with some music.
