18 HITS SUMMER GOLD - Compilation (original artists)
7 Records
Cat# MLT 337
1979
Australian release
Cover is in good condition, no seam splits, no writing and very little edge wear from normal handling.
SPECIAL NOTE: Why the Gold nugget around her neck? This album was released and at the time there was a competition where someone had the chance of winning a Gold ingot, thus the title "Summer Gold"
New plastic inner sleeve is supplied
Vinyl is in good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see a few very light ~ light marks or scratches on either side. Some of them appear to be leeching from the original inner liner. A simple visual inspection of a vinyl record is often not good enough to make an accurate judgement so I then played both sides ENTIRELY, every single track. Surface noise is only slightly elevated and no issues at all on Side A with click/pops
HOWEVER
it was when I flipped 'er over that I noticed a small bump/warp at the beginning of Side B (see my note below about this) NO mis-tracking occurs in this area but there is some light click/pops towards the end of the first track on this side of the record i.e Village People singing Sleazy. After this first track the vinyl "settles down" and all is well with the world!
But careless handling/storage issues don't end there!
Plays Side B fine until we get to track 5, "Drac's Back" a great little song of the times but someone got a bit carried away and there is a short medium level scratch which DOES cause a short (one) mis-track towards the end of this song. Such a shame!
The remaining tracks on Side B are fine and overall this album remains a good play of these 'old school' songs from the late 1970's
Supplied in new outer protective plastic sleeve
