Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

This vinyl album is being offered purely for its historical value as an "Asian bootleg" - the music isn't bad but there is no way this is an official licenced release from the labels concerned.

In fact, there obvious typo's in the song listings such as the Jackson Five medley which lists the second sample track as THEN when in fact it is the well known song, BEN!

There are no artist credit anywhere, no recognition of their labels

Another thing that jumps out at the listener is that although the cover says "Original Artists" this is simply untrue...I have listened to the entire album and the Jackson Five or The Beatles never sounded like these tracks! Some songs even have reverse gender singing the lead vocals - a dead giveaway.

The engineering is a bit "how's ya father" with a lack of smooth transitions within the medleys, poor fades outs (or none at all) and the BPM keeps changing between segments within a medley - bit of a mess really.

My interest in this album (and the primary reason I am offering it) is to provide an example of a typical Asian bootleg from the period - these were sold by the thousands at the street markets but have largely disappeared now, being replaced by masses of fake CD's instead!

101 Magic Disco Hits - Compilation of created disco style medleys

VMC Records (Manufactured in Philippines by Vicor Music Corporation)

Cat# VI 2606

197? exact year of release is not indicated but I am pretty sure this was released late 1970's

Philippines release

Cover is in very good condition, no writing, no tears, no seam splits and very light edge wear from handling.

Special notes here about the cover: During this period of 1970's to mid 1980's, Philippines covers are made from a plain heavy grade cardboard. The graphics are printed on a separate gloss paper and "laminated" to the plain cardboard substrate - NOT printed directly onto the cover.

New plastic inner sleeve is supplied

Vinyl is in very good condition, inspected under a white halogen light source and I can only see a couple of very light scratches on each side. I then played both sides entirely and there are no significant issues with surface noise or clicks/pops - nice playback although as I have said above, the artists are NOT the original performers - most likely a Filipino show band - these bands are VERY good at playing covers. I remember watching many of these bands play Metallica's "Sandman", outstanding performances and if you closed your eyes you could very well be fooled into thinking you were hearing the real deal. Filipino's love music and have some very good vocalists/musicians.

Supplied in new outer protective plastic sleeve

I will not list the medley tracks, you can see them on the cover (front and rear is identical) of the album
