Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Jali Musa Jawara real name is Djeli Moussa Diawara

He began playing in Abijan, Ivory Coast and is a skilled Balafon, Kora (think of a 32 string harp!) and guitar player. Actually Djeli plays not just any ordinary Kora (21 strings) but his custom made (and much loved) 32 string Kora

Interested in the Kora? It is played usually with the musician seated and the instrument resting on one leg although it can be played standing but that is much more difficult. Have a look at this VIDEO if you want to know more or look at the video below with Djeli performing.

In the 1980's he moved to Europe and his music has become well recognised since, working with many well known musicians including Carlos Santana.

Lets not forget the other musicians playing on this album, they were:

Aboubacar Camara - Guitar

Kalifa Camara - Idiophone [Balaphon], Marimba

and of course there was  Jali Musa Jawara who took care of vocals, guitar and his beloved 32 string Kora!

UK release

Generic white cover is in good condition, no writing, no tears, no seam splits. Record labels are clean and unwritten.

New inner sleeve

Vinyl is in very good condition, visually inspected under a white halogen light source and I can see a few light scratches on each side. Just looking at the vinyl is not good enough so I then played the ENTIRE release, no significant surface noise issues or click/pops at all.

New outer protective plastic sleeve

Tracks: Soubindoor, Baladjan, Bana, Cherif, Afrique Du Sud, Waratiki
