HISTORY:

Although by today's standards this adaptor is now "old hat" because many internet service providers have their own VOIP services on offer (often to the exclusion of all other providers) but when we purchased this adaptor, VOIP was a new technology and required an "add-on" unit such as this.

In very basic terms, you connect this adapter to your business or home network using a straight through RJ-45 Ethernet cable and this box communicates with a prearranged SIP provider, SIP is the protocol being used for the VOIP communications.

This means that in addition to this adaptor, you MUST have an account setup with a VOIP provider.

I see there are plenty of these SIP providers available, go HERE to see some of the choices

Setup the adaptor and you have the means to make and receive telephone calls at very low cost, using a 'real' telephone number. We had a couple of these and had a lot of fun with call-forwarding services via SIP. This meant we had REAL telephone numbers in USA cities (incoming only) but the calls all came back to us in Australia - the Americans thought they were calling a local American business. Of course you can also use SIP for normal incoming and outgoing calls.

I mention this to give an idea of what can be done with these adaptors, a bit of imagination and experimentation!

We moved over to ISP providers who offer their own VOIP services and there is no longer a need for us to have this VOIP adaptor

NETCOMM - VOIP Adaptor

Model V210P

This VOIP Adapter is NOT locked to any provider

Managed VOIP Adapter

SUPPLIED ITEMS:

V210P Adaptor (the White box)

12V Power Adapter

User setup instructions (if required) on CDr - I am reluctant to print the manual as it is 58 pages in length

NO RJ-45 Ethernet cable (most people would already have this)

NO telephone instrument (user supplied)

Setup (which is quite technical) is undertaken via a Web browser. I have reset the adaptor so the "factory set IP address" will work fine

CONDITION:

USED

CLEAN

NO damage to either the adapter or the power supply

The User manual (if required) will be sent on a CDr not printed format

TESTING:

Used by us previously without any issues.

Today I have "hard reset" the unit to 'factory defaults' so access to the setup is http://192.168.22.1

The equipment has now been sealed with clear plastic to maintain the condition while awaiting a new owner who is looking to find out what VOIP is all about

USED Exactly as described
