PURPOSE:
This small module accepts a computer graphics generated signal on the D15HD connector (female) and then sends this signal out on a twisted pair (RJ45) for long line transmission of video signals, up to 100 metres but possibly longer depending upon the resolution being used.
The link cable can be UTP or STP (Shielded Twisted Pair), the latter is preferred due to superior EMI characteristics
This module is the transmitter, you need to already have a Kramer TP series (or compatible product) receiver module to setup a hi-res video link
TESTING:
Fully functional, removed from some specialised broadcast equipment for which I couldn't see anyone using. The equipment was fully functional, including this module.
Instead of using the special DC input socket, it is simple to supply DC 12V direct to the module ground and behind the power socket (at the rear)
Supplied in a small aluminium frame which can then be easily mounted inside custom equipment where the desire is to send out computer graphics signals over some distance via twisted pair (Cat 5)
It not difficult to find these as a complete "solution in a box" but much harder to find just the bare module - perfect for experimentation or custom project development.
