HISTORY:

My primary interests have always been electronics and the 'the arts' and more specifically, music, artwork and hand crafted/decorated chinaware's.

I have never really taken to film and am not a film enthusiast but an associate has asked me to find new owners for THEIR large collection of photographic and film items ... this is one of those items.

While the world of 8mm/Super 8mm/16mm is not my area of expertise, I am learning fast! and my training in electronics helps too!

SPECIAL NOTE:

To be brutally honest I am not even convinced this lamp is for use with a projector system, slide or film! If only I could read the Japanese information on the box!

I cannot check back with my associate who gave the projector spare parts into my care as he is very unwell but I was presented with this box of new and some used projector lamps and this one was amongst them.

A couple of differences to a normal "domestic household" candle lamp, this has an E11 base (not E12) and the Japanese instructions include the symbol ! (within a square) which seems to suggest this may be a quartz lamp and the Japanese writing may be all about the care in handling of this quartz lamp.

If this lamp is of interest to you, it is up to you to establish that this is the correct lamp for your projector

UNIDENTIFIED MANUFACTURER - Candle Lamp

Made in Japan (probably)

Circa 1980's (not sure about this, could be earlier)

Type: hanging filament (tungsten?) arranged across 5 separate supports. If I look at the filament, one side is strung upwards to a post, then down to another post then up again and finally down - the total length of filament is quite long.

The base is smaller than an E12 and measures 11.3mm with my micrometer so I have called it an E11

Part numbers stamped into the base: TC 110V 40W

The only English language identification is on this base and the outer corrugated cardboard tube 110V 40W

The envelope measures 80mm height x 32mm diameter at the widest point

There is NO printing on the quartz or glass envelope at all, completely clear

Fitted into the original corrugated cardboard sleeve shaped in a square with two sides of the sleeve having extensive Japanese writing

COSMETIC CONDITION:

NEW

Old Spare Stock

I have checked the lamp, both physically and electrically

The Edison base is clean, shiny and undamaged.

The DC resistance (COLD) is measured at 23 Ohm, all good. My only intention here was to check there was no "open circuit"

Regardless of whether the envelope is glass or quartz, I have taken great care to never touch the glass.

To maintain the current condition of this lamp, I have now sealed the original cardboard sleeve within an additional clear plastic packet

I am not a shop, there will be no further ongoing supply of these lamps - once the stock has found new homes, there will be no more
