Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Oh yeah baby! A blast from the past these panel switches/indicators

These illuminated switches use incandescent lamp based indicators (remember incandescent?)

Once upon a time ....

All illuminated switches on equipment panels used incandescent lamps, sometimes bayonet, screw thread, wedge or midget groove (MG)

LED??? No such beast in those days!

Schurter still makes these panel switches but of course with LED indicators, not incandescent, and I noticed that some major distributors in Europe STILL have the incandescent lamps in their catalogues.

So why would you want one (or more)?

These are great for dated equipment restoration (particularly in the broadcast industry) retro customised equipment or as "props"

SCHURTER Illuminated Panel Switch

Made in Germany

EMF Series

Type: LR47016

Industrial switch (often found in older broadcast equipment)

Actually it is two switches, independent of each other. One set of contacts is NORMALLY OPEN, the other set is NORMALLY CLOSED - these switches are NOT connected to each other i.e it is not like a single pole changeover switch.

Switch action is momentary - not locking

Choice of three top cap colours

RED YELLOW/ORANGE GREEN (I only have six of each colour - when ordering please indicate which colour you would like)

Square face

Mounting hole 16.2mm

All plastic body

Body length 43mm

Threaded nut (blue) which screws on from the rear

Long life switch operations

Long life lamp

Incandescent lamp Midget groove fitting (24V DC)

Momentary switch (push on release off)

CONSTRUCTION:

The front colour bezel "pops off" with gentle coaxing from each side of the bezel.

This reveals a square, clear piece of plastic upon which the text is printed (discarded as not relevant to further use)

Underneath this is another square piece of plastic, the diffuser - this spreads the light from the lamp evenly

Then there is the lamp itself - here things get interesting because you really need to use a special lamp extraction tool to remove the lamp without destroying it!

I see distributors in USA still sell these extractors, imagine a tube but it is in two halves. A special pressure lever fits over this tube. You insert the tool, gently squeeze the lever and this grips the lamp glass envelope - extract the lamp.

CONDITION:

Very good

NO cracks or damage to the casing

Clean

TESTING:

Every single illuminated switch has been tested! Both the switch and the lamp are fully functioning.

Keep in mind that these are NOT 6V or 12V lamps but I measure 23.3V across the bulb (cold resistance ranged from 90 Ohms to 150 Ohms) when active.

Each illuminated switch will be supplied sealed in plastic (to keep it clean/dust free) WITH THE LAMP INSTALLED - I don't have the correct extraction tool, I couldn't get the lamp out of the fitting!

Testing performed as outlined in the description. Used item, non returnable
