HISTORY:

Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

This NIDEC centrifugal fan is NEW, old stock.

NIDEC Corporation is a well known name in the world of fan technology, actually they are a very large multi-product corporation in Japan, these Nidec fans are often found in IT server environments (CISCO etc) but also very useful in other situations where a 'standard' fan type may not suit.

NIDEC - Centrifugal Fan

Made in Japan

Series: GAMMA32

Model: A33924-29

Shape: Square

Nominal DC Voltage: 12V (700mA)

DC operating range 7 ~ 13V

Rotational speed 4200rpm

57 CFM

Running noise is not stated on their datasheet

Ball bearing

5 wire - sensors fitted *** Please see below for comments about the wiring

5000hr MTBF

Technical data is a bit "thin on the ground" but HERE is a link to some data from  a very similar NIDEC fan, the G12C

Note that in that datasheet I seriously doubt the stated consumption current of 2.7A (!) - that is way too high

***

Not often found in this type of fan but there are 5 wires running on a short tail and terminated to a DB9 male connector

Black & Red are the motor connections

Yellow is 'likely' to be rpm signal output

White is 'likely' to be PWM control signal

Brown I suspect is signal return

Why so much doubt? It is EXTREMELY difficult to find technical data on this 5 wire fan but I compared the colour coding of the 4 wire fans, it appears NIDEC is at least using a "standard" colour coding to indicate the purpose of each wire but the Brown wire is a mystery, nowhere have I found any reference to that colour being used.
