HISTORY OF THIS SONY POWER ADAPTOR ACCESSORY

My professional and private background is all about electronics, audio and 'The Arts' but NOT really video, film or photography!

Over the years, I seem to have gathered together a bunch of old camera's (some are odd looking, like concertina's!) and the accessories, the camera's have all found new homes but I still have a few accessories for various cameras.

PLEASE read the description completely and decide if this power adapter may be of interest to you.

From my research online, it appears this adaptor is intended to be used with still cameras from the SONY Cybershot series .... models such as

DSC-T1 DSC-M1 DSC-T33 and probably others in the series

I remember I had a few 'Cybershots' and the little docking stations here (now all gone to new homes, I think) so it seems this power adaptor is an 'orphan' from that equipment

It is up to the buyer to establish if the AC-LM5A suits their own camera equipment

There are no returns or refunds offered, this equipment is second hand and offered 'as-is"

SONY - Power Adapter

Made in China under licence from SONY

GENUINE ADAPTOR - NOT a fake 3rd party knockoff!

Model: AC-LM5A

Multi-voltage input 100V ~ 240V (International)

SMPS Current sensing

4.2 Volt DC output

Proprietary male plug (SONY) which will probably only suit their cameras

NOTE:

I am NOT including (but do have advertised separately) the AC power lead ... why? I hear you asking

The connector used is a "standard" figure 8 female plug but it has a shorter body and one side is flat compared to a normal figure 8 plug. I do have one or two of these but not enough for all the adaptors I have taken out of the camera accessories boxes, so they are NOT included but advertised separately HERE

Sure, as an alternative AC power lead you can physically fit a standard figure 8 plug but it is a bit long and doesn't go right into the socket properly ... useable, JUST!

COSMETIC CONDITION:

CLEAN

NO damage to adaptor

NO damage to the input socket or the heavy duty DC lead which goes to the camera (or is it the camera dock? I can't remember)

TESTING:

I test all of my used items, if at all possible.

This one was a little tricky to test because of the special SONY plug which has Gold fingers top and bottom and metallic contacts on each side as well. There is a "hood" which must be pulled back to access the contacts.

Fiddled around and yes, I can see the adaptor is sending DC - the voltage was measured at the points indicated on the case and reads 4.17V steady.

I am 100% confident that this power adaptor is working fine

Now that testing is finished with, I have placed this adaptor into a sealed clear plastic packet ... it is now patiently waiting for a new owner!
