HISTORY:

Sustainability is the name of the game! Anything (that has been tested and still functioning properly) should be repurposed creating saving in wasted Ee and reducing the poisoning our environment when items are buried in the earth at the local tip needlessly.

Never heard of Ee? It is a concept that creates a measurement of ALL things (not just electronics) that humans have made and the energy used in obtaining the raw material, processing the materials right through to a finished product and even should include the shipping of the item to the distributors/retailers.

If you would like to know more about Ee values, please take a look HERE

I have been clearing out a LOT of electronics related "bits & pieces" from the workshop and here is a kitset that was once widely used as an educational aid when teaching "newbies" in the world of electronics.

The technical skills required are a basic level of electronic theory knowledge and intermediate soldering skills. This is a "thru-hole" kitset, no SMD and no i.c's

This kitset is intended to hone the users soldering skills, electronic component knowledge and encourage the thought processes on how this design may be improved upon ... above all, it should be fun!

There are NO dangerous voltages involved, running from a low voltage battery.

Read on if this kitset intrigues you!

FUTURE KIT -  Kitset Electronic Project

Priority Testing Game

Kitset compiled in Thailand

Cat # FK137

FUNCTION: Three push buttons (PCB mounted) and three LED's, the first button to be pushed turns on the corresponding LED and locks out the remaining two push buttons, like in a game show you may see on television.

Design technology: discrete transistors (3), small signal diodes, LED's & resistors.

The kitset package contains the following:

ALL components required AND a roll of solder - sealed in a plastic packet

PCB mounted push buttons

3x 5mm coloured LED's

PCB Single sided with component designations printed on the top surface

Instruction sheet which includes identification and handling of electronic components, layout and theory of operation description.

The rear of the package has component identification colour code charts

TESTING:

Yes! I actually put together one of these kits for fun (as if I had nothing else to do!) and checked how it was designed to work. It DOES have limitations due to the design but it's a great way to "play" with electronics and hopefully learn something or improve electronic knowledge/soldering skills.

I mentioned limitations, it's all due to the design ... while the priority indication is fine, it is NOT latching. This means that if the "winning" button is subsequently released, the "other" button(s) now indicates as the winner. So the priority indication is only true while the "winning" button remains pushed down (the other two buttons will have no effect in this case) but if that winning button is released, then either of the remaining two buttons become active.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

CLEAN

I have a few of these left from the classes we used to run, all EXCEPT ONE are sealed/stapled and never been opened - I opened one for the photographs and then repacked and sealed the packet!

To ensure pristine, as new condition, I have now also sealed this kitset within a clear plastic packet (to prevent dirt/dust etc)

NEW Exactly as described
