Oh my! You don't see these very often although I must admit that their use is quite specialised. This plug is beautifully engineered (all metal) and has a special sleeve on the front section that will mate will 3.5mm sockets that have a locking thread.
These are typically used in wireless mic belt pack systems e.g SONY and SENNHEISER
