Portable and lightweight
Requires a small 9V battery to operate (not supplied as we do not leave batteries inside the units for obvious reasons) - you can get these batteries for a couple of dollars at your local discount store.
Indispensable when you have a bunch on various cables all running together in a duct system and you need to quickly establish which cables are carrying medium level AC voltage (typically 240V supply lines).
Of course you can also use these for the tracing of AC cabling within wall cavities.
Auto calibration and very easy to use.
Just hold against an area where no AC source is present and then bring the unit near/over your collection of cables and very quickly you will be able to determine which cables to take special care with (those carry dangerous AC voltages).
Very sensitive, around 300mm from an AC source and the lights start going crazy which alerts you that some significant AC voltage is being detected.
