RIKENOHM resistors are well known in the audio world (now ceased production though) and we used a lot of these in output stages and cross-over networks.
These are 12 Ohm, why 12 Ohm I hear you ask ....
Most often we also used these for amplifier load testing and the value of 12 Ohms allows for a variety of "load ladders" to be made up, depending upon the resistance desired e.g 3x 12 Ohm in parallel and you have 4 Ohm, 15 Watt power dissipation or 2x for 6 Ohm @ 10W 4x for 3 Ohm @ 20W and so on. Create a nice fat 8 ohm load with say 3x 12 Ohm parallel plus another 3x 12 Ohm parallel and connect the two blocks in series for your 8 Ohm load - very flexible
