Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

We don't actually know much about the artist, we have travelled around for many years picking up pieces of artwork that were of particular interest to us, especially Australian landscapes. Living in the city, it is nice and comforting to see some "bush" now and again!

It was a long long time ago when we purchased this painting but I think it was on offer at a local art show in regional NSW.

What is important to us is the artist's skills in the colouring, proportions and the subject, seeing what the artist saw and what he is trying to convey.

It (for us anyway) is very difficult to depict the real look of this painting, a photograph is just so "flat" being 2 dimensional and although we have taken great care to try and capture the colours realistically, in real life the painting is more "alive"!

Although we know so little about this artist, he is undoubtedly skilled! The use of the brush is so good and the colouring is realistic - Ray has been painting for a long time from the look of his work.
The attention to detail is quite extraordinary, very fine and similar to an early Michael Taylor.

Signed (actually looks like it has been pen etched, showing the underneath base layer of white) in hand writing, Ray Kennedy 83

The frame is gold gilded but nothing special, interesting that the rear of the frame hasn't even been sealed properly (with paper tape)

Oil on board

Measures: 392mm x 291mm painting size, 470mm x 370mm frame size edge to edge

DAMAGE!!!
We moved from our large home into a much smaller house and this is why so many of our collected artworks are now being offered on this and other sites....while in storage it has not been handled quite right.

In the centre of the painting (sky area) there are a couple of "scrape" marks or indents - these don't detract from the overall artwork and barely noticeable at a normal viewing distance but if close up, yes you can see these marks. If you look very carefully at the photographs, you might be able to see them too.

In the sky area, just above the central mountain range

No other damage to the painting, no chips or flakes, no "fly spots" or dirty marks other than that described above.
