Collection of mining songs, both old and later songs & ballads.
Typical of the folk songs at the time, heavily influenced by the British Music Hall music and so called "Parlour Room" songs.
The cover photograph is also a well known painting "The Prospector 1889" by Julian Ashton which is apparently hanging at the Art Gallery of NSW.
Larrikin records was owned and operated by Warren Fahey. He had a small shop in Paddington Sydney and started up the label in 1974.
This was his FIRST pressing release
He continued with the label up until 1995 and then sold it to Festival.
Larrikin is one of Australia's modern recording pioneers.
