Endrust was an Australian jazz band formed in 1974, closely linked with Endrust (the motor vehicle rust protection product) and also Ampol seems to figure in the scheme of things as well, as I have seen the Ampol sign on every release from Endrust.

The last track, side 2, which is funny enough called Endrust is like a jazz genre jingle

Nice upbeat rag and dixie jazz with some quite peculiar songs from the Leonine Singers (Consort) and of course, those them scottish bagpipes coming over the hills from yonder although in reality, the Gurkhas Brigade were actually from Hong Kong on a visit to Australia.

The jazz band played at many motor sport venues, including Bathurst, Amaroo, Oran Park & Sandown

Members were:

Mike Hallam - trumpet & vocals

Paul Simpson - reeds

Adrian Ford - piano

Peter Allen - banjo

Rex Gazey - tuba & vocals

Geoff Allen - drums

Recorded during a visit to Australia by the Brigade of Gurkhas Pipes & Drums, three tracks include the stirring bagpipes (along with Endrust) and also included is vocal jazz by the Leonine Consort.

The Leonine Consort at this time were:

Sopranos - Susan Briedis, Jennifer Bates, Claire Ford

Altos - Katherine Capewell, Deirdre Stephens

Tenors - Richard Dixon, Peter Bridgwood

Bass - Stephen Bennett, Charles Colman

Cover is in good (minus) condition, a couple of small opening seam  tears, no seam splits, no writing but there is an overall look of considerable handling and wear.

New inner plastic sleeve

Vinyl is in good condition, examined carefully using a halogen light source I can see a few very light scratches on either side. I then played the ENTIRE album, all tracks, and while there is some low level surface noise, these are not really significant - same goes for click/pops, of which there are a number but these are very low level. Interesting 1970's Australian jazz fusion with bagpipes and the singers.

Tracks: Scotland The Brave (with bagpipes), Coney Island Washboard, Tiger Bump, Ain't Misbehavin', Fig Leaf Rag, Chesapeake Bay, Amazing Grace (with bagpipes), Good Old Bad Old Days, Yo Nepali (with bagpipes), Heebie Jeebies, Bye Bye Blues, Dippermouth Blues, Endrust
