Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

The Clash moves away from their well known punk style such as "London's Calling" and produced this completely refreshed sound with the release called Sandinista!

Initially released as 3x vinyl or 2x cassette sets, this copy is a bit strange - I can find no reference to it anywhere.

This is a SINGLE cassette version of Sandinista!

No it's not a bootleg, this is official commercial product and I purchased it here in Sydney from a major music retailer (Brashs) a long time ago.

It is a cut down cassette version because it is missing 12 tracks that are on the original 2x tape releases (which is not surprising, not enough tape)

Referring to the original 2x cassette release, the tracks missing are all those from Side C track 7 onwards

Cat# 2EPC 0031

Recorded using Dolby B

If your playback equipment does not have Dolby, reduce the treble response slightly to compensate

First published 1980 but this release is very likely to be later although the year is unknown

Australian release

Clam shell is in very good condition, this is a screwed clam shell so if ever there was a need to re-lubricate or change the pad, it is possible (if somewhat fiddly). Card insert is in very good condition.

See photographs for print details on the cover and the clam shell - it is all legit

Test cassette machine: Nakamichi DR8

Prior to testing, tape was repacked (FF - RW - FF - RW) to ensure even tape loading. This is vital for cassette tapes that have been unplayed for considerable periods of time.

Tape media is in very good visual condition, but the only real way to judge the condition of magnetic tape media is to actually play it, so I have played both sides of this tape.

Audio is full range and bright, full high end and lows. Sounds great. No drop outs. No tape sticking or other transport issues which could indicate dried out lubricant. Head pad is in place and secure.

Besides being just a single cassette, another peculiar thing is that the track order is "switched" between Police On My Back and Lightning Strikes (Not Once But Twice) all copies I can find reference to have these two tracks in the reverse order to this release. Thinking this might be a massive typo, I listened carefully and the printed track order is absolutely correct - Police On My Back plays first then followed by Lightning Strikes as the first track on Side B

Tracks:

SIDE A

The Magnificent Seven, Hitsville U.K, Junco Partner, Ivan Meets G.I Joe, The Leader, Something About England, Rebel Waltz, Look Here, The Crooked Beat, Somebody Got Murdered, One More Time, One More Dub, Police On My Back

SIDE B

Lightning Strikes (Not Once But Twice), Up In Heaven (Not Only Here), Corner Soul, Let's Go Crazy, If Music Could Talk, The Sound Of Sinners, Midnight Log, The Equaliser, The Call Up, Washington Bullets, Broadway
