Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

Australian designed, manufactured around 2014 by Impax Communications and sold through distributors such as Soundcraft HOWEVER I strongly suspect that Impax Communications is "no more" because I cannot contact them by telephone and their website seems to be extremely basic now.

PURPOSE:

This equipment is intended to be used by consumer and professional audio users who needs to ensure multiple sources have properly balanced levels - each source can be individually adjusted on a "single channel" basis i.e stereo would use two channels, each having individual adjustment of the level.

THIS IS DESCRIBED AS A BALANCING AMPLIFIER - THIS REALLY REFERS TO THE ABILITY OF THE EQUIPMENT TO "BALANCE" AUDIO SIGNALS FROM A VARIETY OF SIGNAL SOURCES BUT IT DOES ALSO HAVE BALANCED SIGNAL HANDLING ABILITY.

*** This advertisement is for the base equipment ONLY - that means the extremely sturdy 1RU rack cabinet, with the power supply installed BUT NO CHANNEL MODULES SUPPLIED

Yeah, I hear you "not much good without the modules" Oh so true but I do have 10 modules available for this unit, these are advertised separately.

Why? Because if someone already has a CINDE 219 and wish to populate more channels, then you can just purchase the input modules without getting another CINDE 219 and if my suspicions are correct, finding these modules could be very difficult these days.

Solid well laid out construction and yes, it works fine!

This type of equipment is invaluable in the studio environment or even perhaps at live gigs - we only used this in our Studio 1 (Archival Audio) where we needed flexibility and the ability to quickly sort out balanced/unbalanced low level signals and their level relationship to each other.

Perfect for the studio or gig where you have multiple analog audio sources and need to adjust the levels of those signals (this equipment will ONLY allow for level adjustment, no EQ abilities are built in)

DESCRIPTION (DETAILED)

Nothing much on the plain black anodised front panel, just the power ON-OFF green indicator bezel

Removable (2x thumb screws) gives easy access to the individual channel 10-turn trimpots for precise level adjustment

Power ON-OFF switch is located at the rear panel

Rear panel has all the inputs & output 1/4" holes for the module connectors.

Total of 16 individual channels can be fitted (NOTE: I ONLY have 10 individual channels left now - see my separate advertisement)

Ribbon cable is in place, this "daisy chains" across each channel module and provides the =/- dual 23.5V DC rail to each of the installed modules

Power supply is linear design (torodial, providing +/- 23.5V DC Unregulated to each channel module)

Casing is aluminium alloy with a black anodised coating.

This case is extremely sturdy - very solid construction

HOW TO FIT A MODULE:

Easy is one word to describe it!

Remove 3x Philips head screws on the top panel, remove.

Remove 5x Philips head screws on the rear panel and carefully withdraw the rear panel.

Fit the module(s) you are installing (just place the sockets in the punched holes and tighten the washer/nut)

Connect the ribbon cable to your module

DONE! The channel(s) are now ready for use

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Clean with barely any marks at all

Casing is undamaged (and so it should be! this is one very tough 1RU case)

TESTING:

We used this equipment for a number of years and then closed down our business (audio post production and archival specialists) and put this (and many other pieces of equipment) away in storage but its time to find a new home for this equipment.

Powers up (green led on)

Power supply is fully functioning (measured at the ribbon cable connector dual supply rail + & - 23.5V DC unregulated - simple bridge rectifier and electro caps)

The channel modules have very audio specifications and are very useful if multiple sources are your audio "playground" (when loaded with channel modules, otherwise it is just an almost empty piece of rack gear)
