My SU-V2 was a fully functioning amplifier but due to speaker switching issues, I have now parted it out and I now have the front panel available for someone to "spruce up" their old V2 which may have some cosmetic damage.

My Technics SU-V2 has now become an "organ donor" and this front panel would be EXTREMELY difficult to find, if ever you needed to find one.

You might be wondering "why did he turn his amp into an organ donor?"

It's sad but after years of putting up with rather touchy speaker select switches, finally they both failed completely so I could only use the headphone socket.

I am very big on sustainability, re-using or re-purposing equipment (no matter how old it is) because a LOT of EE (Embodied Energy) was used to create this panel and to throw something like this away, poison our landfill etc is just so irresponsible and such a waste of expended energy.

The EE for this front panel is in the region of 85MJ which is almost 24kWh! Aluminium has one of the highest EE values, don't waste it!

Anyway, here is the complete panel description

Technics Amplifier - SPARE PART ONLY

Model: SU-V2 (Australian release model)

Front panel (only)

Aluminium (brushed or anodised) dull silver finish

All labelling is clear and none are missing/rubbed off partially or completely

The red filter for the peak power meter display is in place

The two mechanical push button actuator assemblies for the speaker switches remain in place and are working fine.

COSMETIC CONDITION:

This front panel is used and NOT in perfect condition but it is in my opinion "very good"

NO dents

No severe scratching but there is ONE light, short scratch (3mm long) right between the subsonic filter cutout & treble control cut-out

A couple of spots of a very light oxidisation, the most obvious between the word POWER & Phones on the left hand side. I tried to lightly clean with vinegar/water but that didn't make a lot of difference, perhaps a metal cleaner will remove these completely but I wasn't game to try this just in case the labelling rubs off. The label print feel smooth, not stamped or etched and they are probably screen printed onto the aluminum so be very careful if cleaning vigorously!

If I had another V2 in need of a front panel in pretty good condition, I wouldn't hesitate at this one.

Since removal from the equipment I have now packed this panel in a sealed plastic to protect it from accidental damage and the environment to keep it in good condition, ready for reuse.

Condition exactly as described Non-returnable used product
