Oh Dear! This item has been sold but take a look around for other similar items

USED, this is a "pull" from an integrated stereo system, the Sansui DA-T500

Many useful options, not just Sansui equipment, with interesting secondary windings.

If the Sansui power amplifier (25W + 25W) is of interest, this is the AC power transformer that powers that module.

I am very big on sustainability, re-using or re-purposing equipment (no matter how old it is) because a LOT of EE (Embedded Energy) was used to create these items from our past and to throw something like this away, poison our landfill etc is just so irresponsible.

So I have saved the known working and useful parts ... here is the complete description of this item

Sansui Integrated Stereo System

Model: DA-T500 (Australian release)

Complete AC input sub-assembly, including the power transformer and the power ON-OFF sub-board with the blue knob

Primary part # R2160EU 24ABE3 (Step down transformer)

Primary and Secondary pin designations clearly marked on the top of transformer

As was the assembly method back in the day of this stereo system, all pins are designed for wire-wrapping but also you can just solder directly to the pin.

Dual AC input selection: 220 & 240V AC (slide switch is currently left set to 240V)

Includes the front panel push ON push OFF locking switch (with the Blue square knob, this knob is removable and is a push on type)

Sub-PCB also has a single fuse and spark suppression capacitor

COSMETIC CONDITION:

Very good condition, clean and undamaged

All leads have been left the original length and intact for easy fitting into another DA-T500 or repurposed into other equipment. It should be remembered that these leads are all intended to be used for wire-wrap termination, as was the interconnect technique of the day, but the conductors will still solder fine.

TESTING:

Absolutely no issues.

The power on-off switch operates properly, positive action and locking.

The AC transformer provides 6 output wires on the secondary.

WINDING 1

Yellow -Black - Yellow is 59V AC centre tapped NO LOAD and drops to 55V under a 1A load

WINDING 2

Chocolate Brown - Light Brown is a low voltage output, 3.2V NO LOAD and drops to 3V under a 500mA load

Light Brown - Green is another low voltage output, 17.3V NO LOAD then dropping to 17V under a 500mA load

Light Brown is the common point, with taps at 3V & 17V in other words

These two secondary windings (Winding 1 & Winding 2) are electrically isolated from each other.

In the original design, the higher voltage centre-tapped winding was used exclusively to power the Power Amplifier outputs and the lower votages used to supply AC for the audio preamps, tuner and cassette deck.

If being used in another project, this transformer should comfortably handle around 1A or 50 - 65VA requirements.

I checked all the voltages while "in-situ" and they are all exactly as would be expected.

Nicely built AC stepdown transformer with a good solid copper flux band around the core (reduces inductive effects in the circuit from the leakage inductance formed by the leakage flux, and also works as an electrostatic shield, reducing EMI)

TRANSFORMER DIMENSIONS:

Transformer body measures 67mm high x 80mm wide x 80mm deep

2x mounting L shaped flanges on the base of the transformer

4x Mounting holes on each flange at 5mm, 22mm, 38mm & 71mm (measured when viewing from the underside, left hand as the reference)

The other flange is in the reverse direction for measurements i.e from the right 5mm, 22mm, 38mm & 71mm

70mm apart on each side and 80mm between the two flanges

Since removal, this complete AC power assembly has been packed in a sealed plastic bag

Condition exactly as described Non-returnable used product
